Jessica Shinn, Intern
Jessica Shinn is honored to be doing her advanced level Master of Social Work internship at Rebellious Wellness. Her desire is to assist people impacted by trauma and toxic stress in their healing journey. With a background in social work, education and customer service in the field of movement, Jessica enjoys helping clients make deeper connections with themselves on the mind body level in order to allow them to connect with others. Jessica believes strongly that we are wired for community; we discover who we are, our very basic concept of identity, in community with others and we heal best when connections are made so we don’t feel alone in the process.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carson Newman University, a certification in teaching English Language Arts at the 7th through 12th grade level from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and is currently working on her MSW at Eastern University in Pennsylvania. She has experience working with family preservation in child welfare, teaching in an urban setting, running youth and teen development programs for a non-profit, and networking with the medical community in support of people struggling to reach pain free movement in their health journey.
